DO THESE TWO STEPS BEFORE YOU COME TO CLASS TO GET YOUR LICENSE QUICKER
STEP 1: CREATE YOUR TxT and RSD Connect ACCOUNTS
1. If you do not already have a Texas by Texas (TxT) account, go to https://txt.texas.gov and create one. You will use this same login for RSD Connect in the next step.
2. Go to https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/handgun-licensing and select the RSD Connect “Login” link or button.
3. On the RSD Connect sign-in screen, choose “Create Account,” “Register,” or a similar new-user option.
4. Enter your name, date of birth, and contact information exactly as they appear on your Texas driver license or Texas ID. Use an email address you check regularly, because DPS may send verification and account messages there.
5. Create your login, complete any identity-verification steps, and confirm your email if asked.
6. Log out and sign back in. Choose the service you need:
• New Texas License to Carry application
• LTC renewal
• Application or license status
• Address change or replacement license, if applicable
STEP TWO: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR FINGERPRINTING:
YOU MUST COMPLETE YOUR ONLINE STATE APPLICATION BEFORE MAKING YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR FINGERPRINTING. The system will NOT allow you to skip the application and go directly to fingerprint appointments.
Follow these directions:
- Go to the following site: https://uenroll.identogo.com
- When asked for a SERVICE CODE, enter 119Q91.
- When asked for a city to search, put in "Mesquite, Texas."
- Look for the address: 2405 IH 30 (that will be The Gun Zone)
- Select that address and then finish out the appointment.
